Situated in Langtang Region, Tamang Heritage Trail Trek is one of the most wonderful and preferred short treks in Nepal. Tamang Heritage Trek is a storehouse of heavenly mountains, Tamang people-a Tibetan origin ethnic group and their lifestyles and cultures. This unexplored northern Langtang area has recently been developed into the Tamang Heritage Trail, as the area was restricted region near the Tibetan border. The trek offers the close-up view of Langtang ranges, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and other snow-capped towering peaks. Floras and faunas, majestic waterfalls, Natural Hot Springs, Tibetan monasteries along with Mani Walls and beautiful local settlements are other features of the trek.
Having explored the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu the journey begins with a scenic drive to Syabrubesi to embark real trek to Tamang Heritage Trek. The trekking route passes many traditional settlements and ancient monasteries that have remained unchanged. Panoramic view of mount Langtang and Ganesh Himal are simply stunning. There is a fort at Rasuwagadi, which reminds the history of Nepal and Tibet relation that has existed for many centuries. The opportunity of spending some nights at a homestay with local people provides a rare experience of Tamang culture, lifestyle and tradition at close hand. The 8 hours drive through middle hills simply concludes this amazing Tamang Heritage Trek in Kathmandu.
Considered as a moderate trek, this route does not necessarily require extreme experiences of climbing. However, your positivity, enthusiasms, and strong determination are mandatory. Although this trek remains open whole year, the most suitable time to travel is March to May and September to December.
